Africa Wildlife Films has always had a special interest in time lapse photography. This interest was exploited to the full during the making of their film “Namaqualand – Africa’s Desert Garden”. The time lapses in this film were shot primarily on S16 Bolexes (EL & SB2), but we have since moved on to shooting digital Time Lapse with Nikon D200 & D300 with CG compositing.
Motion control, tracking the growth of plants, insect metamorphosis, and the movement of clouds, sun, moon and stars is another special interest.
A selection of clips of weather, plants, insects, landscapes and celestial bodies are viewable opposite. Many of these and others are available as stock footage.
